4 Tips to Quickly Update Your Living Room Décor
If you went out and bought all new furniture, window coverings, wall hangings, lighting, cabinets, and so on, every time you wished your living room décor was more up-to-date, you’d probably have to sell the house to afford it all anyway.
Especially when we buy high-quality living room furniture and accessories, we can often get a little tired of the look long before the furniture itself wears out. But, while completely redecorating the living room might be the best way to update its décor, it’s not the only way.
How To Update Your Living Room Décor Without Completely Redecorating
If there’s one thing that never ceases to surprise us with interior design is how even a small change or addition can make a room’s décor almost completely different.
Not all of these tips might work for your living room, but you only need one of them to update its décor.
1. Transform the Lighting
You may have heard movie stars joking about how it’s really the lighting that makes them look good. Until you see them in person and realize that they are right. And different lighting options can do the same for your living room. Unfortunately, this one doesn’t work during the day. But it’s fantastic at night.
2. Add an Accent Chair
If your living room is nicely coordinated with a suite of furniture, matching occasional tables and so on, you can give the décor a ‘pick me up’ by adding an accent chair. This Modern Barcelona Accent Chair can help update many different décors.
3. Hang a Statement Piece on the Wall
If you’re tired of the look of your furniture, accessories and carpets, then take a bit of the focus from them. Bold wall art and hangings not only update your décor, they give you a chance to express your creative side.
4. Add Some Plants – Take Away Some Plants
Natural greenery has a powerful effect on the ambience of your living room. If you have no plants, or only a few, adding some foliage, particularly larger varieties if you have none, will make a big difference.
Plants work so well, they can start to takeover the room’s décor without you noticing. Decluttering a room full of plants can add airiness to the room without abandoning Mother Nature altogether.
Again, not all of these might work for you. But the idea is you shouldn’t just accept your décor until the next time you can afford a complete redecoration of your living room. For more great furniture and décor ideas, visit your nearest Arrow Furniture location today.
