On their own, ottomans and coffee or occasional tables offer lots of options for your home furnishings. But put them together and they can give your room an entirely new look and feel at times, while still also filling their traditional roles at other times.

The basis of the ottoman-coffee table is a large ottoman that would otherwise take up a large chunk of your floor space just for something you use to rest your feet and occasionally as a place to sit.

But the versatility of the ottoman-coffee table means it can be a coffee table when needed, an ottoman when needed and, occasionally both.

How the Ottoman-Coffee Table Came to Be

Extra large ottomen are attractive pieces of furniture that add a relaxing, casual touch to even a formal living room. But, again, their use is limited to foot resting and the occasional sitting.

But, considering their size, they can easily and sturdily support a tray of refreshments and treats. Suddenly, the ottoman becomes a coffee table. And the versatility is just beginning.

If a tray isn’t big enough for your needs, an occasional table that fits over the ottoman will not only give you as much table space as a regular coffee table, but it makes for a very attractive and unusual furniture combination.
