A lamp shade tends to be the main visual aspect of a lamp. It covers the lightbulb and diffuses the light that is emitted. Make sure you look at the shape, size, material, colour and pattern of the shade. You want to make sure it is going to fit into the space and compliment your room. If you are getting a table lamp, try to make the shade come to eye level when you or guests are seated.

Choose The Right Lamp Type

Lamps come in many forms. There are floor, desk, table, and wall mounted lamps that all function differently and complement areas differently.
