3 Steps to Save Money When Refurnishing Your Living Room
Sometimes your living room furniture is begging for an update, but your bank account isn’t ready for a complete makeover. Still, by taking the three-step approach below, you can save money when refurnishing your living room and updating its look and feel.
The Three-Step Approach to Refurnishing Your Living Room
There are many ways to create a fresh new look for the living room without breaking the bank, including painting the walls and changing your wall hangings and artwork. But it’s going to be difficult to avoid buying furniture.
The tips below will help you save money on furniture purchases and give your living room a new décor that you’ll be proud to show off to your friends and family. And you can use them for updating your dining room and/or bedroom furniture too.
- Know What to Keep – In many cases, some of the furniture you already have may be worth keeping for a number of reasons. First, if it’s a high-quality piece that’s still in good condition, like a sofa, you can decide to keep it and refurnish around it. You can do the same for a piece of furniture that is a particular favourite of yours.
- Go with Versatile Furniture Styles – Some furniture styles, like transitional and mid-century modern, can be easily incorporated into other styles. For example, transitional occasional tables can work in a traditional living room where a modern occasional table might not.
- Choose Signature Pieces – A signature piece of furniture is one that, by itself, can change the entire ambience of the room. A sectional sofa, an area rug or even a coffee table and end tables are often all that’s needed for an entirely new look. Depending on your budget, you can choose more than one signature piece for even more of a transformation.
