How to Make Your Living Room Cozy this Winter
Right about now, there’s a bear somewhere heading into hibernation for the winter. And you don’t have to worry about getting sprayed by a skunk in winter because, well, they’re hibernating too, along with lots of other animals.
If you’re like most people when the days get shorter and the temperatures get cooler, you go into a bit of a hibernation mode too. In the evenings, instead of heading out with friends or to tend the garden, it seems like all you want to do is cuddle-up under a blanket on the couch.
So this is the perfect time to make your living room cozier by adding a little more warmth. Whether you want to get cozier furniture, or you just want to do a few things around the room, here are some ways to make your living room cozy this winter.
1. Area Rugs for Cold Floors
While lots of people like look of tile and hardwood floors, no one likes the freezing-cold feel of them. A nice thick shag area rug will keep your feet toasty warm.
2. Throw Pillows and Blankets
Getting cozy means having lots of options for doing so. Extra blankets and pillows give you everything you need to stay comfortable right through your next Netflix binge.
3. Fabric Sofas and Recliners
Leather can be warm too, but there’s nothing quite as cozy as a big, comfy fabric sofa or recliner.
4. Candles
Even if you have a fire place for real warmth, candles make it feel warmer just by their glow. Pillar candles might last the entire season and you can choose scented or unscented versions, so you can even make your living room cozy right down to the smell.
It’s always fun to get warm and cozy on a cool autumn night. Enjoy!
