4 Space-Saving Coffee Tables
It seems like no matter how big your living room or family room is, you’re always looking for places to store things and keep the room organized. At the other end of the spectrum, if you’re in a downtown condo, “spacing-saving” is the operative term in any living room furniture you buy.
With that in mind, we thought we’d show you some space-saving coffee tables that double as the perfect centrepiece for your living room.
Space-Saving Coffee Table Ideas
Here are just a few ideas to give you an idea of what’s possible in large and small spaces alike.
- Multi-Level Tables – The first step up in the space-saving category for a standard coffee table is one with a lower shelf. Anything not being used at the moment can be kept close at hand without crowding the top of your table.
- Built-In Storage Space – Occasional tables, including end tables, with built-in drawers let you instantly add storage and organizational space without taking up the floor space that shelving and/or consoles would. The drawers can be used for permanent storage of things you might occasionally use in the living room or family room, including everything from game controllers to a knitting project. It could also be left at least partially empty, ready for a quick tidying when unexpected guests arrive.
- Lift-Top Tables – If you’re looking for versatile storage options, lift-tops can be the way to go. Lower the top for the clean look of a regular table, or raise it to give you space below for books, games, laptops, etc., while still having a coffee table top for snacks and refreshments.
- Coffee Tables on Wheels – Space-saving or not, coffee tables sit in the middle of the room, which can be a problem at times. But moving one that has full storage may not be quick or easy. Unless it has casters that let you easily roll it out of the way, and back into place again, as needed.
